Genertec Tianduan Debuts 20,000 kN Servo-Driven Flexible Intelligent Hot Stamping Line to Advance Automotive Lightweighting

PUBLISH DATE:2026-09-18

TIANJIN, China — Genertec Tianduan has launched a new 20,000 kN servo-driven flexible intelligent hot stamping line, a self-developed system that establishes a new benchmark for productivity, precision and energy efficiency, precision and energy efficiency in the forming of high-strength automotive structural components.

The launch addresses a hot stamping industry challenge. As global automakers race to reduce vehicle weight, the hot stamping of structural parts is being pushed harder on every axis — higher throughput, tighter tolerances, lower energy consumption and reduced noise. Conventional hydraulic presses, long the industry workhorse, are increasingly showing their limits in cycle rate and energy control. What was once a process choice has become a competitive requirement.

The new line pairs a 20,000 kN servo mechanical press with servo loading and unloading manipulators. Unified control and FANUC multi-axis synchronization keep press and automation tightly coordinated, producing five distinct advantages over conventional hydraulic installations:

•  Faster — overall productivity is 1.5 to 2 times that of a conventional hydraulic press line.

•  More reliable — a simplified machine structure removes nearly 60% of the hydraulic components in the main drive section, cutting failure rates and simplifying maintenance.

•  More precise — slide repeat positioning accuracy reaches ±0.01 mm, with four times higher eccentric-load resistance compared with conventional hydraulic presses, for confident handling of complex and asymmetric parts.

•  More economical — servo “power-on-demand” output reduces energy consumption to around 40% of that of a conventional hydraulic press.

•  Cleaner and quieter — operating noise is held below 80 dB, measurably improving the shop-floor environment.

Individually, these are strong numbers. Taken together, they represent a material restructuring of total cost of ownership: faster cycles, lower energy draw, simpler maintenance and a better working environment compound over the service life of the line.

Where a conventional hydraulic press relies on brute force, this servo-driven cell delivers controlled force. That distinction matters increasingly as EV programs shift toward higher-mix, lower-volume production. Programmable servo motion curves let the press switch quickly between different materials and sheet thicknesses with minimal setup, giving manufacturers the responsiveness to absorb model changes and shorter product cycles.

The line also marks a milestone in Tianduan's long-standing commitment to automotive lightweighting. As a core company within Genertec's machine tool division, Tianduan is drawing on decades of lightweight forming expertise to evolve from a hydraulic forming solutions provider into a comprehensive forming equipment solutions provider. By integrating its hydraulic and mechanical technology platforms, the company continues to advance its all-servo reciprocating mechanical presses and is developing large-scale servo transfer presses — building out a more complete forming equipment portfolio for the global automotive lightweighting industry.
